Build a custom event page

We’ve launched an exciting new feature which allows our clients to customize their own unique web page for each event. A custom page for each event can be built by using the simple WYSIWYG tools on the HTML Description field and the other options under Custom Event Options such as Custom Page Background Image and Background Color picker. A Google map to the event is drawn automatically from the given event address. Dynamic content such as band bios, photos and video can be pulled in from last.fm by simply entering an artist’s name. Each event page gets a custom URL to link-to like “https://holdmyticket.com/event/6994″ and each page automatically generates an array of social networking buttons for fans to instantly post events on sites like Twitter, Facebook and Myspace. Also, under Media Options we added the ability to upload images and even attach YouTube videos to a custom page!

Customize your HoldMyTicket control panel

Many of you spend hours each day logged-in to your HoldMyTicket account looking over calendars, adding new events, making updates and watching the ticket sales pour in! In this video we wanted to show you how easy it is to personalize the look of your admin area.

HoldMyTicket integrates into WordPress

WordPress is a popular (free) content management platform for websites. Many business have started using WordPress as a solution to maintaining and updating their websites.

We have developed a few calendar plugins for WordPress websites. These plugins will allow you to combine the ease of WordPress with the calendar/ticketing power of HoldMyTicket. Now you can easily “sync” your events from HoldMyTicket to WordPress.

HMT WordPress Plugins
We have just released a couple of simple WordPress that work with HoldMyTicket. There are two widgets and one shortcode plugin. The widgets are a simple list view of the upcoming events, and a simple but extendable month view widget. The shortcode plugin can be embedded in any page or post to show and filter events. Also comes a simple style sheet that can be tailored to your design.

New Mobile Sites!

iphoneWe are now offering free mobile websites. A “mobile site” is a website that is specialized for the small screens of mobile phones like the iPhone or Blackberry. Calendars can be hard to look at on a small screen so we can direct your visitors to an optimized, smaller version of your event calendar.
