Tags help people find your events by grouping events by genres, categories and more. Tags are also searchable. If you have jazz show and someone is looking for jazz but doesn’t have a specific show in mind they can search for ‘jazz’ or click on a ‘jazz’ tag and your event will listed.

Adding tags will also help events receive extra exposure on the new “tag cloud” on the holdmyticket.com homepage. If you’re using an HMT Powered website you now have your own tag cloud on your site.

For music events, you can identify the “genre” of music.

Here is a series of screenshots that show you a quick way of tagging events.

1. Click the + tag icon to create a new tag for your event

2. A text field appears.

3. Now enter in your tags separated by commas.

4. Now click the “Save” button, and your tags will be saved to the event.

Notes can be a helpful tool when planning your next event by giving you a unique new way to communicate internally. Use notes to track bookings and offers. They’re great for reminders, and you can easily see on the calendar what days have notes on them.

Adding notes for a specific date is as simple as clicking on the day in the calendar on the right sidebar. Which brings us to another cool feature we just launched: You’ve always been able to mouse-over the calendar to see what events are booked on a date, but now if you CLICK on the date you have multiple options! You can create an event, load existing events, add/edit notes, or view the sales report for that day.

When creating notes you can choose which users you want to notify via email. Everyone you want notified will receive an email of the note with links back to the note so they can leave comments if desired. Users in the loop on this note will receive email notifications whenever a new comment is posted.

You can filter your notes by venue! Just tag notes with a venue when creating it, then when a venue is selected in the tab on the upper right, only that venue’s notes will show. Select ‘All Venues →’ to see notes across your entire account.

Order notes by date tag or date created.

You can archive old notes, or delete unneeded notes. Archived notes will not show on your regular notes list but are always accessible by clicking ‘Archives’.

You can order tickets by clicking on the ‘Events’ tab, then ‘Order Tickets’ from the sub menu. Instead of having to submit orders for events individually you can now add tickets from multiple events to your order.

The user interface is straight forward – Just select the event you want to order tickets for, then set the quantity and add it to your cart. You can edit or remove any item in your cart. You can select the shipping address we have saved for you, or fill out the shipping address manually. Click ‘Process Order’, confirm your order, and you’re done!

The default ticket text will be available for every event, however if you have custom ticket text set up for the event it will show up in the preview. The ticket text is still editable in the event form, and part of this update is an improved layout for the ticket setup. Each ticket now has tabs for each of the major ticket options. Click the ‘Ticket Text’ tab to edit up to four lines of text. Now your custom ticket text will appear when you select the event in the ticket ordering form.

Customizing the widget is simple and versatile. You can change colors, dimensions and display settings to match your site design or preferences. Its fun to mess around with the settings to list the events you want the way you want. Here are some examples of different widget designs:

Show Seat Holders. View the overall status of the seats for an event. Color coded seats allow you to easily see what seats are taken, available and held. You can also click on a seat to see more information about that seat, including the seat holder’s info if the seat is taken. Furthermore, you can reprint tickets and view transaction details.


Edit Seat Holds. This tool allows you to manually hold seats by clicking on them. Click a seat to hold it, click it again to free it up. The drop-down in the upper right allows you to select what category your hold falls in. If you click a seat that is being held in a different category you will be prompted to switch the hold to the category you’re currently on. Red seats are holds in the active category, while dark-grey seats are holds in another category.


Import Previous Event Holds. This tool allows you to import seat holds from a previous event. So if this event uses the same or similar holds as another, just import the existing holds into this event and you don’t have to manually select your holds. This is great if you have a large seating chart with tens if not hundreds of holds. Once you import your holds it will clear any existing holds you had for the event, and you can always edit your holds once they’ve been imported.


Manage Seating Hold Categories. Use this tool to add, edit and remove seating hold categories. Hold categories allow you to keep track of what seats are being held for whom. For example you may want to keep your media holds separate from your artist holds, etc. Categories created here will be available in the drop-down when editing holds.

HoldMyTicket has actually had a free Facebook app that displays all of your events since 2008.

Recently, Facebook has shuffled a few things around so we dusted off our old app and made some updates to make it support more features. Here is a refresher on how to get your events showing up on your Facebook page now.

Here’s how to install HoldMyTicket’s Facebook App:

1. Go to here >>
2. Click “Add to My Page“
3. Get your Facebook Page ID by clicking “Edit” on the Facebook page and looking at the URL. You should see something like this https://www.facebook.com/pages/edit/?id=46255268843  The number on the end of the URL is your Facebook Page ID
4. Put your Facebook Page ID into your HoldMyTicket account. (Click on the VENUES tab, select the venue your are linking to facebook and add the Facebook Page ID to field near the bottom of the page.

A link to  your HoldMyTicket calendar should now be visible on the left side of your Facebook page. The link says “My Events“. You can change this link name to something else like “Buy Tickets” or “Club Calendar” if you wish by clicking edit under the apps and editing the HoldMyTicket app on your Facebook account.

MULTIPLE VENUES: If you are a promoter who works at multiple venues you can display all of your events at different venues on one Facebook page by adding your same Facebook Page ID to each venue in HoldMyTicket.

When creating or editing an event scroll down to the ‘Tickets’ panel. Click on the checkbox next to ‘Ticket Text’ to activate the ticket text editor.

Once the ticket text editor appears just fill out the lines as desired. To change the sizes of each line use the selectors to the right of each line.

After you’re done editing your event click ‘Save Event’. You’ll see a confirmation page with your event details. Scroll down to see a ticket preview. From here you can click ‘Print/Order’.

Printing a proof of your tickets is a snap, just click ‘Print Version’. If you want to order printed hard tickets on our exclusive ninja ticket stock simply fill out the quantity and click ‘Order Now’. We’ll send you numbered tickets with barcodes that are already tied to your event so they can be validated with scanners and reported in your HMT account.

After clicking on ‘Event Tracker’ you’ll see this window. Click on ‘Enable Event Tracking’. More options will appear. Click on ‘Generate New Tracker Code’ – a Tracker Code will automatically be generated. Once your code has been generated click ‘Save Event Tracker Settings’.

To track the event just go to http://holdmyticket.com/event_tracker and enter the code. Anyone you give the code to will have access to real-time ticket counts and sales information.

Once the event is accessed using the tracker code an event audit will load displaying the current ticket count and sales.

First you need to create the new comp type. Login to the venue app and click on the ‘Venues’ tab, then from the menu that loads below the tabs click on ‘Manage Comp Types’.

From the window that loads you can ‘Create New Comp Type’. Additionally, you can edit or remove existing comp types.

When you process a ticket as a comp in our boxoffice software you will be given the option to select from the comp types you created for that venue!

Now, when an event report is viewed you’ll see the stats on comp types:

To view and/or edit your notes for an event simply click on your event to get the event overview window.

On the lower left of the event overview click on the ‘Event Notes’ button.

The Event Note Editor will appear, where you can view any existing notes.
